Research and Trading (ART)
Limited announced today
that their specialist trading and consulting firm is to commence a new
venture into the specialist training area. ART is well known for its work in the area of trading and
consulting in advanced methods of risk/return evaluation and trade idea
generation. ARTSchool is the third leg of the operation in taking this
expertise to the market professionals and trading staff at operations such
as banks, securities firms, corporate treasuries, and funds management. ARTSchool
offers a wide range of seminars from one-day “Quickies”
to the more in depth three-day seminars, as well as bespoke “in-house”
courses. The focus is on practicality and P&L, the Press Officer at ART
said “the market professionals who come on our seminars will learn both
how to make money and how to save money in trading activities, and
regardless of subject complexity we never loose sight of our raison
d’ętre, maximising the bottom line”.
ARTSchool
is run with a core of market professionals with additional
expertise brought in on a case-by-case basis. The core faculty of ARTSchool
includes Dr Oliver Bajor, ART Senior Partner, former head of derivatives and proprietary
trading groups at organisations such as CIBC, Mitsubishi Finance, and
Citibank, with special interest in directional trading, arbitrage, and
risk management; Professor Nick Robinson, ART
Senior Associate, an economist with extensive banking experience including
being the chief economist of Chase Manhattan Bank, and Professor at the
University of Surrey; and Dr Andrew Street, ART Senior Partner, a quantitative
trader/structurer and risk manager who has headed up derivatives trading
groups at Mitsubishi Finance, Nomura, Paribas, and who most recently
managed the Financial Services Authority’s (FSA) Traded Risk Department.
ART Ltd
(UK) was formed in early 1999 following from ART Ltd (Canada) and the
amalgamation with on-going consulting and software operations started in
1980. The ethos at ART is to provide a wide range of support and services to
market professionals in financial enterprises focusing on optimising
holding period risk-adjusted returns.
ART also offers a
conduit to financial services that involve market risk (trade idea
generation and investment in trading strategies) via our sister company

which is responsible for all trading and funds management activities that
